The Pen Llŷn Coastal and Trail race was brilliantly organised by the Pen Llŷn Ultras team and friends. I was very impressed with the dedication of the marshals and feed station volunteers who were out for hours in sometimes poor weather and remote locations to cheer us along and make sure we didn’t stray from the route. A huge thanks to all the volunteers!

This was definitely a challenging race. I ran the marathon and the course was brutal but beautiful taking in a section of the Wales Coast Path for the first 15 or so miles to Porth Neigwl (Hell’s Mouth) before turning inland for a short, hilly road section which brought us back to the coast path in Abersoch for the return to Pwllheli. A really testing course with a whopping 2500+ feet of ascent, challenging technical sections and an exciting beach finish in Pwllheli. What more could you ask for?

A word of thanks to Pwllheli Golf Club for the warm welcome and providing the setting for a highly entertaining prize giving. A brilliant day all round. Well done Huw, Dylan and the team for another great event!
